In April, we led a crowdfunding campaign to support our organization in these difficult times.
Since Monday, February 3rd 2020, in response to the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the population, the Vietnamese government has decided to close public schools.
Later, further measures were taken such as closing borders, quarantining people and cancelling events and gatherings.
Our mission is impacted by these measures so for the past few weeks and for safety reasons, part of our mission has been on hold:
We can’t welcome the children in our Phuc Xa office, to play or for tutoring sessions,
We can’t organize monthly cultural and sports activities,
Our personal development program is on hold,
We had to postpone this year’s edition of our charity event, the Island Run.
However, our team is still working hard and we are focusing on:
The social work for the families and the children
The monthly rice distribution thanks to our partner Coup de Pouce,
The enrollment of new members,
The financial development of our organization.
We identified some urgent that could not be covered because of our charity event, the Island Run, postponement which is a big part of our incomes as:
The salaries (local coordinators, tutors),
The rent for our office,
The electricity and internet bills,
The communication expenses.
Results of the campaign!
The financial objective was to raise $1500 in 7 days. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our community, our objective was achieved in only 3 days!!
In total, we raised $2800 in 7 days!
We would like to thank all the donators, the people who relayed our campaign and our partners in Hanoi who trust and support us!!
