Ninh Binh Field Trip

June 4, 2019

At the beginning of the summer holidays and to celebrate the end of this school year we organised a field trip for everyone! This yearly activity is important to us, the field trip allows us to strengthen our relationship with the kids, it makes them discover the beauty of their own country and is always a good opportunity to concretely learn something new.

To do so, in October 2018 School on the Boat co-organised a charity football tournament with the CCIFV called Foot for Hope. We managed to raise 35M VND (around 1400€) which was used for this travel.

Thus, the 27th of May morning we took a bus to Ninh Binh, 100km away from Hanoi.

We arrived directly at the temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang, followed by the temple of the King Le Dai Hanh.
After some interesting explanations from our guide, we all had lunch in a restaurant where we tried goat meat, a speciality of this region.

We then headed to our hotel to have some rest, and beat the heat by enjoying the hotel’s swimming pool.

Loads of water fight later, we then rode bicycles through the beautiful landscapes of Tam Coc, between small villages and rice fields.

We finally came back for dinner and had some story time before going to bed. Children had sleepy eyes after this day full of activities and emotions!

Next morning we took boats from the Tam Coc jetty to explore the beautiful Ngo Dong River. Nobody else than our group was there so we could enjoy this experience at the fullest !

Before lunch we enjoyed the swimming pool one last time, of course !
After nice meals together, it was unfortunately time to leave. Time sure did fly…
Without surprise everybody slept on the bus on the way back, and the children went back to their houses their mind full of memories.

We thank all the people who made this unforgettable experience happen : the CCIFV for their help with the Foot for Hope event, Vietattitude for organising this trip with us, the adults and mothers who took care of the children during this trip, and of course the children for being helpful, curious, and joyful no matter what !
