For the third consecutive year, our "Island Run" charity race was an opportunity for the people of Hanoi to discover or rediscover the so-called "Banana Island" and to participate in a solidarity action.
In 2017 and 2018 were organized the first two editions of the Island Run, which took place on the island on the Red River in the heart of Hanoi.
This event echoes our work with the families we help in the Long Bien area, some living on the floating houses of the Banana Island.
This gathering was a nice way to renew contact with the friends of the association and to discover new faces, to share a convivial and sporting moment.
The challenge was also for School on the Boat to raise funds to improve the attention and the follow-up that we carry to the children of our program and to continue our activity in the best conditions.
On March 31, 2019, the runners met at Chez Xuan, the start line of the race.
No fewer than 288 participants rushed into the heart of the island's vegetation on 2, 5 and 10 km courses!
We are pleased to announce that this event has allowed us to raise the sum of 50 million Vietnamese Dongs (about $2150)!
Naturally, we would like to express our gratitude to our sponsors, our partners, and the entire School on the Boat team who made this fantastic day come true. Of course we extend our warmest thanks to all those who participated in this wonderful adventure and got their shirt wet for the cause of our children!
We look forward to seeing you next year for a stunning 4th edition!
