D-Day has arrived!
Waking up at 5 in the morning to face 5 peaks and 2000 meter of steep climbs:Valentin is prepared! After 3 months of intensive training, the moment is finally there. For his first marathon, he will startwith experienced runners and he feels quite good about it. He would spend the first half of thecourse in the company of a Frenchman, who was used to the distance. Afterwards, Valentincontinued by himself.
Aurélie and François tried to follow by motorbike (something that wasn’t easy considering the mountainous route) and they met Valentin at the third checkpoint.François ran with Valentin for 1 km and then they had to leave by motorbike again. No time to stopbecause Valentin is going much faster than they anticipated. Aurelie and Francois met Valentin atthe finish to congratulate him: 28th out of over 400 participants! Valentin ran 42km in 18min 6H 29SEC! Yes, that’s right, Valentin is a champion!
We could not be more impressed and proud of hisaccomplishment! Before being a project, running the marathon was primarily a personal challenge. He completed thechallenge with success!ci.
